Guidelines for the formation and establishment of Scientific Groups at the Center for Women's Studies and Research at Tehran University

Article 1- Introduction

The Center for Women's Studies and Research at Tehran University has established research groups to achieve its goals in women and family research and studies.  These groups have been established to improve the status of women in the society by the participation of scientific and executive elites of the country.

Article 2- Definition

Scientific Group refers to an assembly or association that operates in one of the areas related to women. The group consists of the head of the group and 3 to 5 main members who will implement their study program in achieving the goals of the Center of Women's Studies and Research at Tehran University.

Article 3- The Goals

  1. Identify women's issues in the Iranian society,
  2. Research in the domain of women and family,
  3. Assist to expand and deepen science considering gender issues,
  4. Establish coordination and constant communication between policy making centers in the women's domain with the country's higher education system,
  5. Explain the status of Iranian women and future developments,
  6. Institutionalizing the research culture in different domains of women's studies and publishing the research results to improve the level of society's knowledge towards women's issues in Iran and the world,
  7. Conducting comparative studies on women and families, criticizing, and reviewing religious and legal ideas and thoughts,
  8. Performing the necessary activities to develop trainings related to women's affairs.

 

Article 4- Activities of the Group

  1.  Meetings, seminars, and professional conferences are held.
  2. Holding lectures, book criticism, and film criticism,
  3. Composing and publishing scientific and research papers,
  4. Composing and publishing scientific and research papers,
  5. Holding short-term and long-term educational and training courses
  6. Cooperation with the public and private sectors and civil society,
  7. Design and implementation of extra-organizational research projects,
  8. Conducting other activities related to the goals of the Center of Women's Studies and Research at Tehran University

 

Article 5- Establishment of Groups and Membership 

  1. Established research groups and their members,
  2. The activity period of the groups is two (2) years
  3. The Head of the Center will carry out nomination of the head of the group and issuance of the management order according to the rules of the Center of Women's Studies and Research at Tehran University,
  4. Permanent members of the Scientific Group, maximum up to four (4) persons, will be appointed by the recommendation of the head of the group and approval of the Scientific Council of the Center Group.
  5. Honorary members will voluntarily cooperate in accordance with the conditions and rules of the Center of Women's Studies and Research at Tehran University, upon the recommendation of the director of the Scientific Group and approval of the Scientific Council.

 

Article 6- Scientific Council

The Scientific Council of Groups consists of directors of groups, head of the center, and administrator of scientific groups, which will be established at the same time with the two-year activity period of the groups.

The duties of the Scientific Council of the group are:

  1. Appointing the head of the group and the permanent and honorary members,
  2. Reviewing and formulating the periodic program of the groups,
  3. Reviewing and formulating the evaluation of programs and trying to improve the quality of the group's activities
  4. Holding periodic meetings for coordinating and performing the respective duties.

 

Article 7- Financial Issues of the Group

 

  1. The Center of Women's Studies and Research at Tehran University is not responsible for providing credit for implementation of the research projects,
  2. The income earned from the activities and financial contracts related to the group will be deposited into the account of the Center of Women's Studies and Research at Tehran University; and after deduction of Tehran University's extra expenses, will be at the disposal of the executors for completion (realization) of the approved programs,
  3. The Head of the Center of Women's Studies and Research at Tehran University must approve decisions of groups with financial burdens.
  4. Memorandums and contracts required for cooperation of the groups with other organizations and institutions will be concluded after approval by the Scientific Council of Groups and with the signature of the Head of the Center.

 

Article 8- Other Subjects

Present Groups:

  1. Women Empowerment Group,
  2. Nomadic and Women's Studies Group,
  3. New Media and family Groups.
