The sociological explanation meeting for the emergence and expansion of cohabitation (white marriage) was held in the afternoon of the third day of December 24, 2019 at the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Tehran. Speakers: Dr. Farhad Nosratinejad - Faculty Member, University of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Sciences Dr. Omidvar - PhD in Sociology and Family Researcher - Mr. Fardin Mansouri - PhD student in cultural policy and researcher in social issues -

 

At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Farhad Nosratinejad said: "In the case of coexistence, not much research has been done and generally with qualitative methods. Here I want to analyze why this form of life has appeared in Iranian society and in Now I must say that coexistence is a modern phenomenon. In the past few decades, this phenomenon did not exist in Iran, and if it did exist, it was hidden or hidden, but today, the further we go, the more it becomes.

 

 

Following the discussion, Dr. Pouran Omidvar compared traditional and modern attitudes about the phenomenon of coexistence. According to hers, in parallel with change, the importance of family and marriage in Iran, a new way of life of men and women has emerged in Iran that researchers do not agree on naming it and call it white marriage and cohabitation, which is the life of the opposite sex without Religious marriage for an indefinite and indefinite period.

 

Mr. Fardin Mansouri, PhD student in cultural policy, started this phenomenon by asking this question: "According to the research I did in this field in 2017, what will be the future research of the family in the coming years and what is our task now?" The first concept in explaining cohabitation is the crisis of masculinity, which if we look at it from an anthropological point of view, the man as the breadwinner of the family is in crisis and the division of gender work is disturbed.
